Gary Bleakley, CLU®, ChFC®

Originally from Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, Gary graduated from Middlebury College, in Middlebury, Vermont, in 1975, with a bachelor’s degree in economics. In 1983, Gary opened a new District Network Office in Fairfield, New Jersey, which within five years became the largest of over 250 District Network Offices in the Northwestern Mutual system. Over the years, Gary has won many company and industry awards both as a successful salesman and a successful manager. Gary was appointed Managing Partner in October 1991 in San Diego, California. The Bleakley Agency, now called The San Diego Group, is comprised of over 100 sales and technical professionals with offices in San Diego and Honolulu, Hawaii.

Gary and his wife Laurie currently reside in la Jolla and enjoy spending their free time with their 3 children and granddaughter.

 

Rick Abell, CLU®, MBA

Originally from Seattle, Rick attended Clemson University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Masters in Business Administration. From there, he returned to Seattle and joined the Northwestern Mutual in 1996 as a Financial Representative, eventually working his way to Managing Director. In October of 2010, Rick made the move to The San Diego Group as Chief Development Officer.

Rick currently resides in Fairbanks Ranch with his wife Tammy and sons Ricky, and Davis both 5 years old and Jackson is one year old. In their free time, Rick and his family enjoy going to the Zoo, Sea World, and exploring everything that San Diego has to offer. 

Tom Mc Tigue

Tom was born and raised in Fort Dodge, Iowa and attended the Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas where he received his degree in Business Administration. He joined Northwestern Mutual in 1976 as a financial representative and moved his business to Hawaii in 1983. Tom was named Managing Director of the Honolulu office in 1993. In this role, Tom maintains his own book of business while also recruiting and developing new financial representatives to join the Northwestern Mutual in Honolulu.

Tom is an active member of the Make-a-Wish Foundation and in his free time enjoys all types of water sports.

Garrett T Bleakley

Garrett received his Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Economics from The University of Colorado-Boulder and has been a financial representative for Northwestern since 2001. His areas of expertise include Personal needs Analysis, Business Needs Analysis and Retirement Solutions. Garrett became the Managing Director of the La Jolla Group in 2011.

Garrett lives in La Jolla with his wife Kelly. He is active with the CU Alumni Association and YABA, the Young Alumni of Bishop’s Association. Outside of work Garrett enjoys spending time with his family and playing soccer.

Andy Rubin, CLU®, CLTC

As a San Diego native, Andrew taught scuba diving off the coast of La Jolla for 4 years through his college career. In 2001 Andrew decided it was time to start a family and a career. He moved back to San Diego, and started his career with Northwestern Mutual and married his college sweetheart.

Andrew takes his career seriously. He has earned his credential as a Financial Advisor and a Certified Life Underwriter. Recently Andrew was appointed as the Recruiting FieldDirector of the Carlsbad office in California. In this role, he wears “Two Hats,” one as a Financial Advisor and the other as a Growth and Development Coach.

Andrew is involved in several local organizations including the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife, Lisa, reside in Carlsbad with their daughter Savana. 

Tom Hammett

Tom was born and raised in Coronado and attended Loyola Marymount University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Law Management and Finance.

Tom joined the Northwestern Mutual in 2008 as a Financial Representative and now holds the title of Recruiting Field Director as well. Tom is a member of the Coronado Chamber of Commerce and is actively working  to get the 20-30 Club of Coronado (a local volunteer organization) back up and running.

Surfing is an integral part of Tom’s life, when he is not working with clients, you can find him surfing the waters between Imperial Beach and Coronado.

Reid Matsushima, CLU®, ChFC®

Reid was born and raised in Kailua, Hawaii. He attended the University of California at irvine where he studied Economics. Reid joined Northwestern Mutual in 2004 as a college financial representative. He now serves as a Recruiting Field Director with Honolulu office, where he actively recruits new candiates to grow the Northwestern Mutual brand in Hawaii.

Reid is involved with the Rotary Club of Metropolitan Honolulu, Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii and the Honolulu Professionals Foundation. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, golf and playing baseball.

Thomas Smith, ChFC®

After graduating from San Diego State University where he received his Bachelor’s of Economics degree, Tommy joined the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network as a Financial Representative in 2003.  He currently holds the titles of Financial Advisor and Field Director.

Tommy has earned his (ChFC) Chartered Financial Consultant accreditation in 2010. He is a firm believer in educating himself to better understand and work for his clients and their families.

Tommy, a California, native is a member of the San Diego Chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA). 

Kevin Morisoli, CLTC

Kevin was born and raised in Livermore, CA, about an hour outside if San Francisco. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in International Business from the University of San Diego.

Kevin joined the Northwestern Mutual in 2009 as a college intern and became a full-time Financial Representative upon graduation. Kevin now holds the title of College Unit Director with The San Diego Group. He is a member of the Delta Sigma Pi International Business Fraternity and Le Tip International.

Kevin is recently married and he and his wife, Aerinne enjoy spending time with their two dogs, Jo Pa and Madden. They spend much of their time these days renovating their recently purchased condo in the North Park area of San Diego.
